This monitor is a life-saver! The temperature thing is kind of gimmicky, and we weren't planning to use that feature anyway. Yes, as a previous review mentioned, the temp. does fluctuate quite a bit, but I know what temp. my thermostat is set at, so I'm not really concerned about the temp. in the baby's room. It is the same as the rest of the house. Some of the video monitors are really expensive, and this one was much cheaper b/c the camera doesn't swivel around. We don't need that feature either. Considering they didn't even have baby monitors 30 years ago when I was a baby, you really can't ask for more than ... -Camera can be placed on tabletop or wall mount.
