We got 2 of these, one for the entry to the kitchen and one for the base of the stairs. Up stairs is just a bonus room. It really is one hand opening and it closes and latched by itself. We have had these for months and have no regrets. I recommend these to anyone with a baby or even a pet. Installation was pretty easy, directions were easy to follow. You have to tighten it up every couple of months or so but it only takes 30 seconds. The best part is you don't have to drill into your wall and it does not leave marks either.
